Not much news to report from Brazzaville these days! No new restaurants (that I’ve visited), no new shops, not much happening. So I’ve compiled some of my favorite street scene photos to share in this post. Enjoy!
I don’t know what this was exactly (some kind of canopy/stand), but it wasn’t attached to the truck at all. I kept my distance.
If you look carefully, you’ll see the passenger is holding on to a ladder on the roof and it’s not actually attached to the taxi at all.
A mountain of charcoal with some dudes sleeping at the very top.
The green ones are taxis. These are boxes of fruit.
It’s a casket.
Also a taxi.
This is a common sight, these are cushions piled high on push carts.
A roof on a push cart.
To market!
Such familiar scenes. Friends and I once transported a huge painting across Pointe-Noire by holding it flat on the car roof through the open windows! Not in a taxi mind you.

Haha!! It’s clearly a good way to transport things. I will miss things like this back in the first world, I think.

Hysterical, just loved them all. Amazing to think that they transport merchandise that way. What an experience for you all.
