My sincere apologies for not providing any updates all summer long! We are headed back to Brazzaville after many, many weeks of lovely vacation. I’m really looking forward to a return to normalcy, getting Lily back in school, and getting back to a routine. We did have a wonderful trip, though. I will be doing posts on kid-friendly Denmark, solo vacation to Utah and Nevada, Western Michigan’s beautiful summers, and Cape Cod’s traffic jams. Just kidding, Cape Cod was nice too.
In the meantime, news from Brazzaville: not much. The DRC Ebola outbreak near the Congo River was declared over, just a few days before a new outbreak began elsewhere in DRC. Luckily for our Congo, it’s very far away. DRC is the two-thirds the size of Europe. It’s really, really big. Our Congo is quite a bit smaller. We head back after a brief visit to Paris, and school starts on September 3!
We are already planning our trips for the 2018-2019 school year. We are hopeful that Airlink SA will start running a flight from Brazzaville to Johannesburg, as planned. It was “approved” in April, but no news since then. It would be very nice to have a direct flight.
Here are some vacation photos:
So glad you had a wonderful trip! Your pictures are wonderful!!! I especially love the one where Lily is holding the Lego people’s hands. 🙂
